Seminole Sunday Sauce — Jan. 26, 2025: FSU Softball Picked to Finish Second in ACC
With less than two weeks separating us from the start of softball season, Florida State has been picked to finish second in the ACC by the conference’s coaches. The Seminoles received four first-place votes, finishing behind only Duke, which received the other 11.
The Seminoles were also tied for the most preseason All-ACC selections with three. Infielder Jaysoni Beachum, catcher Michaela Edenfield, and outfielder Jahni Kerr were each selected from FSU.
FSU will open the 2025 season in Mexico for the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge. The Seminoles kick things off on Feb. 6 against Oklahoma State.
FSU reached the Super Regional round of the NCAA Tournament last season before falling to eventual national champion Oklahoma. Entering its 17th season under head coach Lonni Alameda, FSU has won the ACC in eight of the last 10 completed seasons.
