Seminole Sunday Sauce — Jan. 19, 2025: FSU Hoops Moves Over .500 in ACC Play
Don’t look now but Florida State men’s basketball has a winning ACC record. The Seminoles accomplished the feat with a pair of home victories this week.
FSU opened the week with an 82-70 victory over Pittsburgh on Wednesday. It followed up with a 91-78 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday.
FSU held the Panthers to 38% shooting and forced 17 turnovers. Jamir Watkins paced the Seminoles with 26 points. Malique Ewen added 18 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks.
Chandler Jackson and Daquan Davis added 13 and 11 points, respectively, in the win. Jaland Lowe led Pitt with 22 points.
FSU shot 52% in the win over the Yellow Jackets. Taylor Bol Bowen led the way with 20 points on 7-for-9 shooting. Watkins and Ewen each scored 17 points. Ewen led FSU with 11 rebounds.
Lance Terry paced Georgia Tech with 23 points. Javian McCollum and Duncan Powell each scored 20.
FSU has now won four of its last five games. The Seminoles improved to 13-5 overall and 4-3 in ACC action. It will head west this week for games against California and Stanford.
