Seminole Sunday Sauce — Nov. 17, 2024: FSU Soccer Wins Fifth Straight ACC Title, Rolls in NCAA Tournament Opener

It was a big week for Florida State soccer. The Seminoles kept their streak of consecutive ACC titles and season alive.

FSU capped its fifth straight conference crown on Sunday with a 3-2 comeback win over North Carolina in the ACC Championship. The Seminoles trailed 2-1 at halftime but drew even in the 63rd minute when Taylor Huff scored on a penalty kick. Less than five minutes later, Wrianna Hudson put FSU ahead for good.

Taylor Suarez also scored in the victory. Jordynn Dudley had an assist. Each team finished with 11 shots. Goalkeeper Addie Todd recorded four saves for the Seminoles.

After consecutive wins over top-10 teams, FSU was awarded a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles kicked off the postseason on Friday night with an 8-0 victory over Samford.

Dudley finished with two goals and two assists in the win. Carissa Boeckmann, Marianyela Jimenez, Solai Washington, Olivia Lebdaoui, Hudson and Ashlyn Puerta also scored goals for the Seminoles.

With the win, FSU is now five away from repeating as national champions. The Seminoles will host Vanderbilt in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.
