Seminole Sunday Sauce — Nov. 10, 2024: FSU Soccer Advances to Fifth Straight ACC Championship

One win is now all that separates Florida State soccer from a fifth straight ACC crown. The No. 6 Seminoles, the tournament’s No. 3 seed, advanced after knocking off No. 3 Wake Forest on penalty kicks on Thursday night.

After Wake Forest’s first attempt hit the post, Addie Todd came up huge with two diving stops. Solai Washington blasted one to give FSU a 3-1 lead in the penalty kick session in a contest that was 1-1 after 110 minutes.

Taylor Huff scored the lone goal of the night for the Seminoles in regulation. Jordynn Dudley and Washington were credited the assist before the second-seeded Demon Deacons had the equalizer in the 83rd minute on a goal by Kristin Johnson.

FSU opened the ACC Tournament last Sunday with a 2-1 win over Notre Dame. Marianyela Jimenez and Sophia Nguyen each scored goals in that one. Dudley, Huff, and Giana Riley were credited with assists.

FSU will take on fourth-seeded North Carolina in the ACC Championship on Sunday. The No. 8 Tar Heels advanced with a 2-1 win over top-seeded Duke in the other ACC semifinal on Thursday.
