Seminole Sunday Sauce — April 7, 2024: FSU Softball’s Alameda Hits 900 Career Wins

Following a winning week, Florida State head softball coach Lonni Alameda is now just 100 wins short of 1,000.

Alameda pick up win No. 900 on Saturday in an 8-4 victory at Louisville. The Seminoles trailed 3-1 midway through but went ahead for good with three runs in the sixth. Kaley Mudge’s RBI groundout, coupled with a fielding allowed two runs to score before Jaysoni Beachum added a sacrifice fly.

Michaela Edenfield and Isa Torres each went 3-for-4 with a run scored. Edenfield homered and drove in two.

FSU opened the week with a pair of 5-inning run-rule victories over McNeese. Edenfield, Kennedy Harp and Jahni Kerr each homered in Tuesday’s 12-0 victory.

Kalei Harding hit a 3-run home run in Wednesday’s 8-0. Kaley Mudge finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

FSU had its 8-game winning streak snapped on Friday with a 5-4 walk-off loss to Louisville in the series opener. Mudge and Kerr each had two of the five hits for the Seminoles.

FSU and the Cardinals will wrap up a 3-game series on Sunday. For the season, the Seminoles are 27-10 and 8-3 in ACC play.
