Seminole Sunday Sauce — Nov. 5, 2023: FSU Football Clinches Spot in ACC Championship
A thing of beauty it was not, but for the first time since 2014, Florida State football is headed to the ACC Championship. The fourth-ranked Seminoles punched their ticket on Saturday with a 24-7 win at Pittsburgh.
FSU fell behind early, but scored the game’s final 24 points. Without his top two targets in Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson, quarterback Jordan Travis passed for 360 yards and accounted for two total touchdowns.
Defensively, FSU forced three turnovers with Conrad Hussey coming up with his first career interception. Ja’Khi Douglas had a career day receiving with six catches for 118 yards.
Dating back to last season, FSU has now won 15 straight games. It did fail to score 30 points for the first time in a game in more than a year.
With Saturday’s win, FSU moved to 9-0 and 7-0 in ACC action. The Seminoles can finish perfect in ACC play for the regular season on Saturday when they host Miami.
