Seminole Sunday Sauce — Oct. 29, 2023: FSU Soccer Wins ACC Regular Season Title
No. 1 Florida State soccer has had championship aspirations since before the 2023 season started. The Seminoles can now check off one of those boxes.
With two shutout wins this week by a 9-0 margin, FSU claimed the outright ACC regular season title. FSU will be the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament.
In their final road match of the year, the Seminoles blanked Duke in Durham on Sunday, 4-0. Onyi Echegini finished with a pair of goals as FSU scored three times within a 12-minute span in the second half. Taylor Huff added a goal and two assists. Kaitlyn Zipay also found the net in the victory.
On Thursday, FSU celebrated Senior Night with a 5-0 triumph over NC State. Lauren Flynn stole the show for the Seminoles with a hat trick. Zipay and Olivia Garcia also scored in the emphatic victory.
FSU will enter the ACC Tournament with a record of 16-0-1. The Seminoles will play a semifinal contest on Thursday against either fourth-seeded North Carolina or No. 5 seed Pittsburgh.
