Seminole Sunday Sauce — April 20, 2025: FSU Women’s Golf Wins First ACC Title
In a week marred by an on-campus shooting, Florida State women’s golf did what it could to bring a sense of normalcy back to Tallahassee. FSU went to North Carolina and claimed its first ACC title.
Over three rounds of stroke play, FSU finished second to Stanford. In match play, the Seminoles took home the hardware with back-to-back victories.
Against sixth-place California on Friday, FSU rolled to a 3-0 win. Mirabel Ting, Lottie Woad, and Kaylah Williams each won their matchups for the Seminoles.
Saturday’s championship, however, didn’t come as easy. Ting rolled to a 5&4 win over Wake Forest’s Chloe Kovelesky but the Demon Deacons led 2-1 as FSU’s Williams and Alexandra Gazzoli went to the 18th hole tied.
In each case, the FSU player won the 18th to win the match, 1Up. The Seminoles won the team title, 3-2.
With its first ACC crown in hand, FSU hopes bigger things are on the horizon. The Seminoles will head to one of several occasions for the NCAA Regional the first week in May.
