Seminole Sunday Sauce — Jan. 28, 2024: FSU Softball Picked to Win ACC
After finishing as national runner-up to Oklahoma for the second time in three years in 2023, Florida State softball won’t have to wait long before the 2024 season gets underway.
As usual, FSU will enter the year with lofty expectations. This past week, the Seminoles were picked by the conference’s coaches to win the ACC. FSU received 10 of the 13 first-place votes.
FSU also led the way with five preseason All-ACC selections. Catcher Michaela Edenfield, pitcher Makenna Reid and outfielders Jahni Kerr, Kaley Mudge, and Kalei Harding were each honored.
Edenfield was also named to the USA Softball Top 50 Player of the Year watch list. Edenfield led the Seminoles last season with 13 home runs and 56 RBIs.
FSU has had a stranglehold on the ACC in recent years. The Seminoles have won eight of the last nine ACC titles. FSU will open the 2024 season at home against Charlotte for the JoAnne Graf Classic.
