It’s Sunday, Florida State fans.
As you get ready for some football, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.
Lead Story
Since a hard-fought loss to Cincinnati last week, Florida State volleyball has returned home and taken care of business. FSU extended its winning streak to four on Saturday with victories over Yale and Austin Peay.
FSU opened the day by beating Yale in straight sets in the first-ever meeting between the schools. The Bulldogs managed just 37 total points during the match while FSU posted an ungodly .527 attack percentage. Emily Ryan and Audrey Koenig each finished with nine kills for FSU in the 3-0 victory.
Against Austin Peay, FSU felt a bit more resistance. The teams split the first two sets before FSU cruised in the final two sets for a 3-1 victory.
Koenig and Ryan again led the way with 11 kills while Emma Clothier and Audrey Rothman each added 10. Lauryn Burrows paced the Seminoles with 12 digs. Mikayla Powell tallied a match-high 14 kills to lead Austin Peay.
With four wins in as many days, FSU is now 6-1 on the young season. Next, the Seminoles will head to Nebraska for matches with Nebraska-Omaha and Creighton on Thursday and Friday.
