It’s Thursday, Florida State fans.
As that weekend creeps closer, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.
A former walk-on, Florida State football running back Treshaun Ward looks to be in the midst of a career-year.
Through three games, the Tampa native is tied for the ACC lead with 302 rushing yards. That’s even with Miami’s Henry Parrish Jr. and Pittsburgh’s Israel Abanikanda.
After leading the ACC in yards per carry last season, Ward currently ranks third in the conference this season, averaging 7.6 yards per carry. Only Clemson’s Will Shipley and Virginia Tech’s Keshawn King average more.
Through two games, Ward has already hit the 100-yard mark twice, including a 126-yard performance in last week’s win over Louisville. As a team, FSU averages more than 242 yards per game on the ground. That leads the ACC and ranks 11th nationally.
Ward and the Seminoles will try to keep that trend going this week as they return home to play Boston College. Ward finished with 51 total yards on just six touches in last season’s 26-23 win in Chestnut Hill.
