The Daily Sauce — Sept. 19, 2022: FSU Football Opens as Healthy Favorite Over BC

It’s Monday, Florida State fans.

As you start a new work week, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.

Lead Story

Now 3-0 for the first time since 2015, oddsmakers think Florida State football should roll to 4-0.

The Seminoles will open as 16.5-point favorites over Boston College, according to William Hill. Despite a myriad of injuries, FSU rallied past Louisville on Friday, 35-31.

While FSU is 3-0, Boston College has limped to a 1-2 start. The Eagles opened the year with a home loss to Rutgers before falling to Virginia Tech. Boston College picked up its first win of the season on Saturday against Maine, 38-17.

FSU has won the last three meetings in the series, but none came by more than seven points. Last season, FSU nearly let a 23-point lead slip away before holding on for a 26-23 win. Akeem Dent sealed the road victory with an interception of Boston College quarterback Phil Jurkovec.

This year’s contest between the teams is slated for Saturday at 8 p.m. ET in Tallahassee. It will air nationally on ACC Network.
