It’s Sunday, Florida State fans.
As you try to end the weekend on a high note, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.
Florida State football picked up a fourth straight win with a fourth straight blowout on Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium. The 19th-ranked Seminoles scored early and often in a 49-17 rout of Louisiana.
FSU finished with 251 yards rushing. Treshaun Ward and Jordan Travis each rushed for two touchdowns. Also finding the end zone on the ground was Trey Benson, who led the Seminoles with 80 yards rushing.
A.J. Duffy tossed his first career touchdown pass — to Markeston Douglas — in the win. In addition to the two rushing scores, Travis also threw a touchdown to Malik McClain.
Louisiana finished with 291 yards, but much of that came in garbage time. Each of the Ragin’ Cajuns’ two touchdowns came in the fourth quarter as they snapped FSU’s streak of 11 straight quarters without allowing a touchdown. Louisiana quarterback Chandler Fields passed and rushed for a touchdown in the loss. DJ Lundy had six tackles and 1.5 sacks in the win.
With the win, FSU improved to 8-3 — its highest win total since 2016. The Seminoles will close the regular season at home on Friday night against rival Florida.
