The Daily Sauce — Nov. 18, 2022: FSU Swimming and Diving Teams Rise in Latest CSCAA Poll

The Florida State men and women’s swimming and diving teams will finish the Georgia Invite as ranked teams.

The FSU women made their debut in the CSCAA Poll on Thursday, appearing at No. 24 after being previously unranked. On the men’s side, the Seminoles rose two spots to No. 19.

FSU also opened the Georgia Invite on Thursday with some strong performances. Peter Varjasi finished second in the 200-yard individual medley and helped FSU finish sixth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

On the women’s side, Samantha Vear finished second in the 3-meter dive. As a team, FSU is currently fourth out of five teams on the men’s and women’s side through 12 events in Athens. The Georgia Invite continues on Friday.
