It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans.
As some of you return from a long weekend, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.
Lead Story
Jeff Culhane has large shoes to fill but he is up for the challenge.
Culhane has been named Director of Broadcasting for LEARFIELD’s Seminole Sports Properties. He’ll call both Florida State football and men’s basketball games this coming season.
Culhane previously worked at North Dakota State, Nebraska, West Virginia and South Dakota State. He replaces the legendary Gene Deckerhoff, who announced his retirement this spring after more than four decades calling FSU sports.
Culhane has more than 20 years of broadcasting experience. His first contest will be FSU football’s 2022 opener against Duquesne on Aug. 27.
“It is truly an honor to be named play-by-play voice for the Florida State Seminoles,” Culhane said in a release. “To follow in the footsteps of a legend like Gene Deckerhoff is an opportunity and a challenge I will look to live up to every single day. My family and I can’t wait to get to Tallahassee and immerse ourselves in all the traditions of Florida State. Go Noles!”
