The Daily Sauce — June 10, 2022: FSU Baseball’s Ferrer Named Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball

It’s Friday, Florida State fans.

As you start thinking about the weekend, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.

Lead Story

Florida State baseball’s 2022 season ended earlier than it would have liked, but there were some stellar individual campaigns along the way.

Earlier this week, outfielder Jaime Ferrer was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball. For the season, Ferrer hit a team-best .320 with nine home runs and 40 RBIs.

A native of Puerto Rico, Ferrer provided all the offense in Sunday’s season finale with a solo home run in the sixth against UCLA. Ferrer also hit the walk-off bomb to end a 17-inning contest against NC State on March 20.

Ferrer will likely be a key piece to the FSU offense again next season. The Seminoles finished 34-25 in 2022.
