It’s Friday, Florida State fans.
As you start thinking about the long weekend, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.
Lead Story
Florida State’s 2022 baseball season has been over for less than a month, but the Seminoles have wasted no time adding some pop to the lineup.
On Thursday, West Virginia catcher McGwire Holbrook announced his intentions to transfer to FSU and play for new head coach Link Jarrett. Holbrook made 47 starts for the Mountaineers last season, including 27 as the designated hitter.
A native of Orlando, Holbrook batted .327 last season with six home runs and 43 RBIs. Holbrook ranked in the top three on the team in all three categories. He also led the Mountaineers with 13 doubles and a .509 slugging percentage.
Holbrook should have a very good chance at becoming an everyday player for the Seminoles. Last season’s designated hitter Tyler Martin, son of recently fired head coach Mike Martin Jr., has entered the transfer portal. While highly regarded behind the plate, catcher Colton Vincent hit just .195 last season with no home runs and just 19 RBIs in 58 games.
