As you wrap up the month of January, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.

Lead Story

Desperate for a victory on Sunday, Florida State women’s basketball played perhaps its most complete game of the season. The Seminoles dominated Virginia at the Donald L. Tucker Center, 62-37.

The Cavaliers shot just 24% for the game and committed 25 turnovers in the loss. At one point in the second half, Virginia had the same number of points as turnovers.

The contest was close early on, but Virginia managed just five points in each of the second and third quarters. FSU led by as many as 31 points in the victory.

For the game, only two players scored in double figures. Morgan Jones paced FSU with 16 points. Amandine Toi led the Cavaliers with 10 points.

With the victory, FSU got back over .500 at 10-9 and improved to 4-5 in ACC play. The Seminoles hit the road to take on NC State on Thursday.
