Florida State football’s 2022 schedule was released last week. Now, some home contests have received designations.
The Sept. 24 matchup with Boston College has been designated as Family Weekend. That will be the Seminoles’ first ACC home game of the season.
One week later on Oct. 1, FSU will host reigning ACC Atlantic champion Wake Forest for homecoming. The Seminoles have lost two straight to the Demon Deacons, but Wake Forest has not won in Tallahassee since 2008.
Military Appreciation Day will take place on Nov. 19 as FSU hosts Louisiana. It will be the first-ever matchup between the schools.
Fresh off a fourth straight losing season, FSU opens the year at home on Aug. 27 against Duquesne. Head coach Mike Norvell will be entering his third season at FSU.

FSU softball pitcher Kathryn Sandercock has been named a second-team preseason All-American by Softball America. Third baseman Sydney Sherrill was named a third-team selection.
FSU football formally announced four new support staff hires on Monday. Darrick Yray takes over as general manager of personnel. Gabe Fertitta is joining as a senior offensive analyst while Greg Moss is a defensive analyst. Carol Moore was named as executive assistant and office manager.
