Lead Story
Florida State women’s hoops’ torrid start continues. The Seminoles withstood a furious rally from Wisconsin on Thursday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge to win their third straight contest, 92-87.
FSU led by 49-31 at halftime and by as many as 24 points midway through the third quarter, but the Badgers were determined to make things interesting. Wisconsin opened the final period of a 21-6 run to draw to within two with more than four minutes to play but could get no closer. Makayla Timpson and Ta’Niya Latson came through down the stretch to deliver the Seminoles.
Latson had another monster game, finishing with 27 points on an efficient 10-for-17 from the field. Timpson added 18 points and 12 rebounds. Valencia Myers tallied 15 points of her own in the victory. Julie Pospisilova led the Badgers with a game-high 32 points.
FSU has now won 10 straight games in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. With the victory, the Seminoles improved to 8-1 on the season. FSU will return home to host Stetson on Sunday.
