The Daily Sauce — Aug. 7, 2022: FSU Hoops Completes Non-Conference Schedule

Florida State men’s basketball now knows what its schedule will look like prior to the start of ACC play.

The Seminoles released their full 2022-23 non-conference slate this week. FSU will play six home games in the non-conference and won’t leave the state.

FSU opens the season against Stetson on Nov. 7 before playing its first road game against UCF on Nov. 11. After three home games against Troy, Florida and Mercer, the Seminoles will head to Walt Disney World property for the ESPN Events Invitational. FSU opens the event against Sienna on Nov. 24 — Thanksgiving.

FSU will play three games during the ESPN Events Invitational. Also joining the Seminoles for the tournament will be Memphis, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Seton Hall and Stanford.

FSU returns home for an ACC/Big Ten Challenge rematch against Purdue on Nov. 30. It will be 13 days later before FSU hosts South Carolina-Upstate. FSU wraps up non-conference play in Sunrise, Fla. for the Orange Bowl Classic against St. John’s.

The Seminoles finished 17-14 during an injury-plagued 2021-22 campaign. FSU will look to bounce back after missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016. Guard Caleb Mills and swingman Matthew Cleveland headline those returning for the Seminoles.
