The Daily Sauce — April 26, 2022: FSU Hires Brian Pensky as Soccer Coach

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans.

As April ticks away, see what’s in The Daily Sauce.

Lead Story

The wait is over. After a national search, Florida State has found its new soccer coach.

Former Tennessee head coach and last season’s SEC Coach of the Year, Brian Pensky, has been tabbed to lead the Seminoles. In 10 years in Knoxville, Pensky compiled a 118-58-25 overall record, which included a 20-3 record last season. Prior to coming to Tennessee, Pensky spent seven years as head coach at Maryland.

For his career, Pensky has more than 300 wins to his name and has guided both Maryland and Tennessee to deep NCAA Tournament runs. Pensky has large shoes to fill as he replaces Mark Krikorian.

Krikorian resigned after 17 seasons in Tallahassee. Krikorian led FSU to 10 College Cups, eight ACC titles and three national championships.
