Seminole Sunday Sauce — March 26, 2023: Season Comes to a Close for FSU Men’s Swimming and Diving

Florida State men’s swimming and diving was unable to register a point in Minneapolis for the NCAA Championships, but there were some strong performances.

As a team, FSU finished tied for 39th over the 4-day event. Multiple swimmers beat their career- or season-best times.

Peter Varjasi set a season-best in the 200-yard freestyle for FSU, finishing 37th. In his fifth NCAA Championship appearance, diver Tazman Abramowicz settled for 30th place in the men’s 3-meter dive and 33rd in the 10-meter platform.

In the 1,650-yard freestyle, Yordan Yanchev topped his personal best by almost 12 seconds, finishing in 25th place. That was the highest finish for any FSU athlete in Minneapolis.

California ultimately took the team title as the swimming and diving season came to an end. The FSU women finished in 32nd place last week.
