Seminole Sunday Sauce — Dec. 31, 2023: Georgia Rolls Past FSU Football in Orange Bowl

It wasn’t expected to be pretty and it wasn’t. With a severely depleted roster, Florida State football suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday, falling to Georgia in the Orange Bowl, 63-3.

The sixth-ranked Bulldogs seized control with nine straight touchdown drives. Georgia finished with 673 yards to just 209 for the No. 5 Seminoles.

The loss ends a 19-game winning streak for FSU that dates back to last season. Kentron Poitier led FSU with 84 yards receiving, including a 55-yard reception that set up the game’s only field goal. Kendall Milton rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns for Georgia.

With the loss, FSU settles for a 13-1 record and likely a top-10 finish. This season, FSU claimed its first ACC title since 2014.
