Seminole Sunday Sauce — Oct. 15, 2023: FSU football Crushes Syracuse to Improve to 6-0

It took Florida State football just six games to become bowl-eligible to start the 2023 season. The fourth-ranked Seminoles weren’t their sharpest at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday but still rolled to a 41-3 win over Syracuse.

Keon Coleman stole the show, finishing with 257 all-purpose yards and a receiving touchdown from Jordan Travis. Travis passed for 284 yards and rushed for a pair of scores.

As a team, FSU racked up 535 yards of offense while holding the Orange to just 261 and keeping them out of the end zone. Lawrance Toafili led the ground attack with 93 yards rushing and a touchdown on just seven carries.

The Seminoles outscored Syracuse 24-0 in the second half. Before the game and at halftime, FSU honored the 1993 national championship team.

For the year, FSU is now 6-0 for the first time since 2015 and 4-0 in ACC play. Dating back to last season, the Seminoles have now won 12 straight games.
