We’re continuing our weekly series that will have 12 (13 is looking… not sure but probably still unlikely) editions this season. A weekly FSU Football uniform conversation with TaReef Knockout.
This week, Florida State is on the road to take on Clemson
1 – Let’s talk about the history of what FSU has worn against Clemson.
It’s Clemson week! This is always a fun uni matchup for me because of the how well the school colors contrast. FSU has gone either traditional away or worn all white the last five trips to Death Valley. The last time we #PackTheGarnetPants at Clemson was in 2005. The odds on for the G.O.A.T combo aren’t looking in my favor.
2 – What do you think FSU will wear when they take the field on Saturday night against the Tigers?
This is a tough one for me. I think we go back to what worked vs. UNC. So, I’m gonna saying (Gold/White/White). Also keep in mind, FSU has yet to wear the traditional away uniform this year (Gold/White/Gold). I’m not expecting Clemson to bring out the orange britches either. Dabo has only done that recently for when “it’s championship time”. Clemson is 4-3 so far this season (internal evil laughter).
3 – What FSU *SHOULD* wear when they take on Clemson this weekend?
What I think we SHOULD wear is the garnet pants! It’s obviously my favorite look, but it’s not something I expect EVERY road game…just almost every road game. It’s all about the aesthetics. Clemson in traditional home vs #PackTheGarnetPants is great for all parties. If that uni matchup happens it would be the first time since 1997. FSU won that day 35-28, and we will be looking for our first win at Clemson since 2013. Bring ‘Reef home the sod. Go Noles!
