The 2022 season is here, and with it come staff predictions! FSU versus Syracuse, who will win?
Returning home after securing the most lopsided road win in rivalry history, Florida State is on the warpath now. Miami, barely able to muster a challenge for the Noles, silently faded to the sound of 45-3. They travel north to face the Syracuse Orangemen, who are coming off a three-game losing streak after starting their season 6-0. Both teams are bowl eligible and determined to secure themselves firmly in the final ACC Atlantic standings. So, who will win?
Our staff shares their thoughts.
Some Notes
Florida State fans must wait to see whether players like Winston Wright Jr. hit the field after being injured during the off-season. FSU has already lost Bless Harris, Kayden Lyles, and Stephen Dix Jr. to season-ending injuries. The good news: Florida State is as healthy as they’ve been all season entering this matchup. The same can’t be said for Syracuse.

Score: FSU 24 – SYR 14
Ed
Prediction: “Syracuse, without Schrader, isn’t much of a team. Additionally, they’re experiencing injuries along the OL and have injuries that are tough to replace along their defense. I see Florida State being emotionally ready for this game, and beating the Orangemen convincingly.”
Score: FSU 37 – SYR 17
Mike F
Prediction: “For FSU, Saturday is a chance to have a winning ACC record for the first time since 2016. Syracuse has had a very good year, but has struggled in recent weeks. For the Seminoles, Saturday’s contest at the Carrier Dome could be the difference between meeting expectations this season, and surpassing them.”
Score: FSU 27 – SYR 22

Prediction: “FSU, then rumors of Jeff Scott coming to FSU and we bust into the top 20…”
