The 2022 season is here, and with it come staff predictions! FSU versus UF, who will win?
It all comes down to this. Florida State convincingly demolished Louisiana and turned its attention to the Florida Gators. UF, reeling after a shocking loss at Vanderbilt, is looking to springboard their recruiting and off-season by beating Florida State under first-year head coach Billy Napier. Mike Norvell, meanwhile, looks to leave his stamp on the state in securing a win over their hated rival. Sister Universities, vying for supremacy and recruiting rights over the state, face off in prime time on Black Friday. Who will win?
Our staff shares their thoughts.
Some Notes
Florida State fans must wait to see whether players like Winston Wright Jr. hit the field after being injured during the off-season. FSU has already lost Bless Harris, Kayden Lyles, and Stephen Dix Jr. to season-ending injuries. The good news is that Florida State is as healthy as they’ve been entering this matchup all season. The same can not be said of the Gators.

Ed
Prediction: “Mike Norvell has this team focused, preaching a mantra that it’s not about the team they face, but that it’s about themselves. Florida State blows out bad teams. Florida, meanwhile, is still looking for AR’s hail Mary ball in their loss to Vanderbilt.”
Score: FSU 41 – UF 24
Mike F
Prediction: “This is a game that FSU should win, but Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson’s athleticism is scary for any defense. As long as the Seminoles avoid mistakes and force the Gators to be methodical, they should collect their first win in the rivalry since 2017.”
Score: FSU 31 – UF 24
