The 2022 season is here, and with it come staff predictions! FSU versus Boston College, who will win?
Florida State roared back to win on the road against Louisville after several players, including Jordan Travis, went down with injuries. The Seminoles return home to take on the Boston College Eagles, a team facing a crisis along their offensive line.
Our staff shares their thoughts.
Some Notes
Florida State fans must wait in anticipation on news of whether starters such as Jordan Travis, Jared Verse, Robert Scott, and Malcolm Ray return in this matchup after all four of them sustained injuries during their road matchup against Louisville. Additionally, starters such as Fabian Lovett and Amari Gainer are still recovering after injuries sustained in previous matchups against LSU and Duquesne. Others, such as Winston Wright Jr. have yet to see the field after being injured during the off-season. FSU has already lost Bless Harris, Kayden Lyles, and Stephen Dix Jr. to season-ending injuries.
The Seminoles are optimistic that the injuries (outside of season-ending injuries) aren’t severe and that many of these players will return to the rotation soon (potentially as soon as this weekend).

Ed
Prediction: “Florida State gets caught looking ahead and not taking Boston College seriously. Being heavily favored gets to their heads, and suddenly they find themselves in a pickle as the Eagles’ defense does enough to keep the game competitive throughout. Fitz misses the game-tying field goal, and Florida State falls at home in a dramatic upset.”
Score: FSU 21 – BC 24
Mike F
Prediction: “The injuries are a big concern for FSU, but Boston College may be one of the worst teams in the ACC. Phil Jurkovec and Zay Flowers can make big plays in the passing game, but the Eagles run game has been nonexistent and no one in the conference allows more sacks. Despite the injuries, this will be a bounce-back week for the FSU defense.”
Score: FSU 31 – BC 17
Shawn
Prediction: “I think this comes down to a field goal – and Fitz saves the day…”
Score: FSU 27 – BC 24
