The 2021 Season is here, and with it come staff predictions! Florida State versus Miami, who will win?
It is all or nothing for post-season play at this point for the Seminoles. Having an unfortunate loss against the Wolfpack this past weekend, the ‘Noles must now run the table against Miami, Boston College, and Florida in order to earn bowl eligibility. With Miami fighting for their own bowl berth, this game should play out as another classic. This will be the last home game in Doak Campbell as well, meaning this will be a Senior game for players graduating from Florida State. With so much on the line for both teams, who will come out on top?
Our staff shares their thoughts.
Some Notes
Jordan Travis appears to be back in the starting rotation this week after recovering from the flu the week before. Additionally, there remains a distinct possibility Emmett Rice will return to the field against this Miami team, bolstering FSU’s linebacker room significantly.
From Miami’s sidelines, D’Eriq King and Jake Garcia still aren’t on the fields. It is Van Dyke or bust regarding the QB room. Keshawn Washington has been on the sidelines for practices, which could translate to an impact at the safety position for the ‘Canes this Saturday. James Williams and Tyrique Stevenson have been practicing with no-contact jerseys. Their status is in question this Saturday, coming off in-game injuries against Georgia Tech this past weekend.
Additionally, multiple Miami players entered the transfer portal this past week: DB Gurvan Hall, WR Mark Pope, and LB Bradley Jennings Jr.

Score: 24-35, Miami
Richie

Score: 34-31, FSU
Harlan
Prediction: “Assuming Jordan Travis is back and healthy, FSU’s ground game explodes in this one. UM can’t stop the run or tackle. UM passing attack will be a problem and scoring won’t be an issue for either team. ‘Noles win a big one here in Doak.”
Score: 38-34, FSU
Bryan
Prediction: “Mixing it up like Travis is gonna do in his Jordan Flu Game.”
Score: 63-12, FSU
Ed
Prediction: “I had a gut feeling about FSU vs UNC in Doak back in 2020. I have a gut feeling about this game here in 2021, too. Jordan Travis is back, and I’m on record as having said I think they would have beat NC State last weekend had he started. I think this comes down to which defense does a better job at stopping the other team’s offensive strengths. Personally, I think FSU’s defense is better at that than Miami’s. We’re in for a classic.”
Score: 37-34, FSU
Mike
Prediction: “Jordan Travis returns and so does this rushing attack. Miami doesn’t care to tackle and that’s a problem for them. I think the FSU defense gets just enough stops to allow for a late Jashaun Corbin TD to seal the deal for the ‘Noles!”
Score: 37-31, FSU
Dustin
Prediction: “Van Dyke slices and dices the FSU defense en route to another ‘Canes W over the ‘Noles.”
Score: 21-23, Miami
Vic
Prediction: “I honestly think it’s gonna be tight.'”
Score: 33-30, FSU
Tyler
Prediction: “A must win. Home field advantage going to be huge.'”
Score: 38-34, FSU
