Weekly Recap: FSU Athletics on a Winning Streak!

The Noles Swept All Sports Again

For the second week in a row, FSU athletics were triumphant in all sports, as golf, volleyball, swimming and diving, soccer, and football all got wins under their belts.

Golf Takes the Title

To start the week, the FSU men’s and women’s golf team teamed up to play in the Barbara Nicklaus Cup at Muirfield Village. This is the first time in college golf that men’s and women’s teams have competed together as one. The Noles beat Auburn, Ohio State, and Arizona State to take the championship title.

Swim and Dive Wins the Classic

Swimming and diving was away again this week at the TYR Classic in Biscayne Bay for the 2 day event. This was their first official event, and they came back home with the title! Some Noles with individual race wins were Kucheran, Bastian, Herbet, and Helling, each competing in different races and diving.

Volleyball Gets a Win on the Road

The Noles were back on the road, first off facing Miami on Wednesday. Unfortunately, they couldn’t win the first away game, falling 3-1. However, they were back on the court on Sunday afternoon facing Duke in an important ACC game. The Noles bounced back from earlier in the week beating the Blue Devils 3-1 in sets, for the 10th straight time!

Soccer is Still Undefeated

Soccer was in the Plex this week trying to enhance their undefeated streak again. They defeated Syracuse in their match on Thursday 5-0, before regrouping for the Miami game on Sunday. They won again 4-1, making their record 13-0, and 6-0 in ACC play.

Football Wins in Underdog Game

Football was also on the road this week against UNC in a game they were not supposed to win. They were down 0-10 after the 1st quarter but made a comeback to go 21-10 up at the end of the half. They traded touchdowns in the 3rd quarter, but extended their lead to 35-17 heading into the 4th. They fended off UNC to take a convincing win 35-25 on the road, with an exceptional performance from quarterback Jordan Travis.
