Back in the Plex taking on Pitt
The ‘Noles were back again in the Plex taking on Pitt last night in their second ACC game of the season. It was a convincing win, with the ‘Noles having the majority of the possession and putting a lot of pressure on the Panthers.
Hat-trick first half
Just 4 minutes into the game, Maria Alagoa scored the first goal, with a lovely shot into the left corner. They continued pushing forwards and gained a second goal, this time by Clara Robbins, who scored from outside the penalty box!
Gianna Mitchell then scored the final goal of the half, with less than 5 minutes to go! Robbins gave up the ball in the penalty box to give Mitchell a shot and score the goal.
Momentous 2nd half
The ‘Noles didn’t let up in the 2nd half, as Kristina Lynch scored the 4th goal of the night in the first 2 minutes of the half. Jenna Nighswonger threaded the ball into the box off of a free kick for Lynch to easily put away.
Gianna Mitchell again scored the final goal of the half, and the game, with 2 minutes to go. Nighswonger crossed the ball into the box for Mitchell to finish with a header into the back of the goal. This is her 4th goal of the season; we are looking forward to seeing what more she will bring as the ‘Noles progress! They continue their unbeaten streak, making the record 9-0.
