We’re continuing our weekly series that will have 12 (13 with a win tomorrow) editions this season. A weekly FSU Football uniform conversation with TaReef Knockout.
This week, Florida State is on the road to take on UF.
1 – Let’s talk about the history of what FSU has worn against Florida.
It’s finally UF week! FSU has gone traditional away (Gold/White/Gold) more times than not in this series. The last six trips have all been in traditional away, resulting in a 4-2 record with this combo. My favorite as you probably know, #PackTheGarnetPants last made its way to Gainesville in 2007, and the white pants haven’t been seen to The Swamp since 1991. If this season has showed us anything it’s that Mike Norvell doesn’t mind starting new uniform traditions. The Noles have yet to wear their traditional away look this year. It would be the first time in modern history that’s happened for a regular season.
2 – What do you think FSU will wear when they take the field on Saturday against the Gators?
I THINK we have two options that should be on the equipment truck this week. Gold or Garnet pants. The players love the gold lids and all-white look, but I think we PACK THE GARNET PANTS! Despite our inability to upgrade the entire uniform look after 8 years of Ignition Tradition garnet pants is still arguably the best look in College Football. Shout out to Chris Rix! I just wanted to say that.
3 – What FSU *SHOULD* wear when they take on Florida this weekend?
We SHOULD wear garnet pants this weekend. I feel like UF will go with their alternate home look and one of their better combos in my opinion (Orange/Blue/Blue). Offsetting this with the G.O.A.T. combo is only right. I mean, that’s really a picture perfect uniform matchup with so many rivalry memories. It’s a sod game, it’s a bowl game on the line, it’s ******* FLORIDA! Let’s find a way to get it done. Go Noles! BEAT UF.
